Ekeri has literally been on the road for over half a century, and was founded in 1945 by Bror Eklundin who operated it as a carpentry business. Truck and trailer bodies were a natural progression for the business since the material used at this time was wood.

During the 20th century Ekeri decided to focus only on box bodies and box trailers with side doors and to develope these products further. Special knowledge, combined with expansion then outside the traditional markets of Finland, Sweden and Norway, opened up a bigger market place. To become the leading Nordic producer of box trailers and box bodies has required product development and the use of modern technology.
